In the early morning hours of 1 July, Engine 239 was dispatched with a crew of five to transfer to Biglerville’s Station while they and several other fire companies from counties in Pennsylvania and Maryland responded to a commercial egg farm working fire on Oxford Road in Tyrone Township, Adams Country, about three miles south of York Springs. While in route to the transfer station, E239 was diverted to the fire scene to assist with water supply and fire attack. E239’s driver joined in water shuttle relay operations and the remaining crew reported to the fire ground and was assigned rotational interior fire extension control duties.
